Bicyclist injured after alleged hit-and-run in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A bicyclist was hospitalized after being hit by a car in the area of Rodman Street and Lonsdale Street in Fall River.
According to police, it happened approximately at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024 when officials responded to a collision between an electric bicycle and a motor vehicle.
The vehicle allegedly fled the scene after the collision occurred.
The operator of the bicycle explained that he was traveling West on Rodman Street in the bicycle lane.
As he approached the intersection of Rodman Street and Lonsdale Street, he told police he used a hand signal to indicate his intention to turn left onto Lonsdale Street.
As he made the turn, he was allegedly struck by an unknown motor vehicle red/maroon in color, which immediately fled the area.
The bicyclist was transported to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
