Big Brothers Big Sisters RI kicks off ‘The Little Brotherhood,’ a new mentoring program
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Big Brothers Big Sisters Rhode Island launched a new mentoring program Monday night.
The program, The Little Brotherhood, provides an opportunity for boys on BBBS’s waitlist to build connections and community with adult role models and “offers a safe place where boys can grow.”
At Monday night’s orientation, boys aged eight to 12 were introduced to the program through a meet-and-greet with staff, ice-breakers, and team-building activities.
The group will meet every other month and allow for the boys to “explore their strengths, build social-emotional skills, and foster a deep sense of belonging,” according to BBBS.
BBBS said it is still in need of 250-300 male volunteers, and anyone interested in volunteering can email mentoring@bigsri.org or visit the website here.
