Bill up for debate would increase DUI penalties in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Tuesday the House Judiciary Committee will vote on a bill that would increase penalties for drivers found guilty for driving under the influence in deadly, or serious crashes.

The committee will also vote on a bill that would allow victims of violent crime to use “victim compensation program” funding towards ensuring their future safety.
