Bitter cold continues this week, with a glancing shot of snow Friday

After a few inches fall Friday, wind chills go sub-zero over the weekend

Frigid air remains locked in over the Northeast, leading to dangerous single-digit wind chills once again tonight.

Things get marginally better over the next two days, but most will remain below freezing.

Another snow event is on the way for Friday, beginning around midday and lasting through the evening commute.

This will be a general 1-3″ event across the area with spotty 4″ amounts at the shoreline as this storm will pass well to the south of New England.

With more bitter air on the way for the weekend, roads will become very icy Friday night – use extreme caution!

Wind chill values both Friday and Saturday night may fall below 0° across the area.

There is an end in sight to the brutal cold. Temperatures will return to normal on Monday, with some balmy 40s beyond that.
