Bitter cold wind chills through tomorrow night
Winds had been gusting into the 50+ MPH range today and while they won’t be as strong overnight and tomorrow we’ll still be experiencing gusts 30-40MPH! Temperatures will fall into the lower teens overnight and when you factor in the wind effect it will feel like it is below zero! Those wind chills won’t improve much tomorrow either as it’ll still be feeling like it is only in the upper single digits. We’ll start the day off bright and sunny again, but like Monday afternoon there will be a few clouds passing by as they stream our way from the Great Lakes as highs only climb to the low and mid 20s!
Wednesday is less windy but still cold, with highs in the upper 20s.
Thursday brings our next potential storm, although at this point, it is looking like the jet stream will keep it just a little too far away from New England and only graze RI and Southeast MA in the afternoon and evening with some light snow or snow showers. The areas at greatest risk will be along the South Coast, the Cape and the Islands. If I had to put some numbers to it right now, I would say anywhere from a coating to as much as an inch or 2 is possible, especially along the south coast and Islands. That said, should the track of this storm move a few miles north of its projected course, we could have more widespread accumulating snow and the certainly next 24 hours will give us much more confident picture.
As we head into the weekend it looks like dry weather will finally prevail along with gradually warming trend!
