BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man from Burrillville encountered a black bear while while walking his dog yesterday.

Harrisville resident Jeff Nadeau was walking his dog when he spotted the bear roaming around a neighborhood.

“This guy was in Harrisville while I was walking my dog,” he told ABC 6.

The bear was about 50 feet away from him when he saw him.

Nadeau said he moved from the bear fast.

A bear was also spotted in Hopkinton last night.

ABC 6 has reached out to the Department of Environmental Management about increased black bear activity in the summer.
