Blessing of the Fleet Celebration to kick off in Narragansett

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Blessing of the Fleet in Narragansett starts today.
Attended by almost 30,000 people each year, the festival begins at 4 p.m. this afternoon and will run through Saturday night at Memorial Square.
The Blessing of the Fleet is a colorful event featuring a parade of decorated commercial and recreational watercraft, large and small.
Tomorrow, the annual 10 mile road race will kick off with 4,000 runners participating.
The festival offers food, from the Narragansett Lions Club, as well as vendors, games, rides, music, and a beer tent.
