PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC is urging investigators to consider Sunday’s alleged burning of the Shiloh Gospel Temple as a hate crime.

Officials responded to a fire that occurred at the Shiloh Gospel Temple on Charles Street at 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

BLM RI is asking law enforcement to investigate whether this possible arson was a hate crime.

“We unequivocally condemn the burning of the Shiloh Gospel Temple congregation in North Providence,” said Harrison Tuttle, President of BLM RI PAC. “Our solidarity lies with Pastor Perry and affected individuals and communities, and we will continue to stand against all forms of racial violence and discrimination.”
