Block Island mask mandate goes into effect Friday

NEW SHOREHAM, R.I. (WLNE)- Block Island’s indoor mask mandate will be going into effect on Friday.

Everyone on the island will be required to wear a mask inside regardless of their vaccination status, starting at noon.

Any person who refuses to wear a mask will be fined $50.

The mandate comes just before the holiday weekend.
