Board of Elections completes post-election audit in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Board of Elections said that it completed a Risk Limiting Audit after the 2024 General Election and found no discrepancies in results.

Executive Director of the Board of Elections Miguel Nunez said the audit is used to ensure there are no discrepancies between election results and actual ballots.

Nunez added that the voting system is tested before and after election day, and verification relies “heavily” on paper ballots.

The completion of the risk limiting-audit with the result of no discrepancies found should give Rhode Island voters confidence in our state’s election system and the accuracy of 2024 General Election results,” the director said. “I want to thank our dedicated Board of Elections staff for completing this post-election audit in a transparent and timely fashion.”

The full results of the audit can be found here.
