Body of man who went missing during snowstorm found in Yarmouth

YARMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE)- The body of a man who went missing during last week’s snowstorm was found on Friday afternoon, according to the Yarmouth Police Department.

Police said that the body of 56-year-old Jean Paul Morancy was found at around 1:15 p.m., along the fence surrounding a vacant residence.

He was wearing only a t-shirt and shorts when he was found, according to police.

Morancy was first reported missing at 2:50 p.m. on January 29, during the severe snowstorm.

Investigators said that the window between when Morancy was last seen and first reported missing was 14 hours.

The reporting parties told police that they’d tried to call his phone several times before reporting him to be missing.

The snow had covered the entire area, leaving no tracks.

Police are still investigating Morancy’s death, State Police are assisting the investigation as well.
