Body of missing paddleboarder at Martha’s Vineyard recovered

EDGARTOWN, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said Monday the body of the missing paddleboarder off Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard was recovered.
Police said the 45-year-old man was found just before 10 a.m. at the Edgartown Great Pond by Massachusetts Environmental Police, who used a side-scan sonar from a boat.
He was found about 100 feet from shore at a depth of roughly 8 feet, said police.
The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.
Police said the paddleboarder went into the water just before 8 p.m. Sunday and appeared to have briefly struggled to stay afloat. He then went under water and didn’t resurface.
The investigation remains under investigation.
