Body pulled from Providence River

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence firefighters recovered the body of a man who drowned in the Providence River near the city’s pedestrian bridge at around 4:12 on Friday morning, according to a Providence city spokesperson.

The man currently has not been identified, though the spokesperson said that there were no signs of trauma or assault on the man’s body. He has not yet been identified.

Detectives with the Providence Police Department are investigating the incident.
