Bodycam video shows rescue of suspect who hid in chimney

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Police body-worn camera video shows officers and first responders rescuing the man who became stuck in a chimney after running from police on Dec. 10.

Robert Langlais, 33, along with an unknown suspect, took off from officers on Canal Street after police executed a search warrant at a residence.

Police said one man eluded capture by bounding from the roof and onto a parked vehicle, and another, later identified by officials as Langlais, attempted to hide inside of a chimney.

The video, posted by the Fall River Police Department, shows the Langlais stuck with first responders taking apart the bricks from the chimney to release him.

After being rescued, he was transported to a local hospital out of precaution, then taken into custody.

Langlais was arrested for possession of class A drugs, possession of class B drugs, and a list of other charges from outstanding warrants.

Also present and arrested, according to police, “with less theatrics,” was 32-year-old Tanisha Ibay for possession of class A and B drugs.
