Boston Marathon returns on Monday

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE)- The Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, making its return for the first time since the pandemic hit.

The race is expected to have around 20,000 competitors, according to the Boston Athletic Association.

That number is down compared to races before the pandemic.

Typically, the event has been known to draw 500,000 spectators.
