Boston Marathon to be held next week

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE)- The Boston Marathon will be held next week, making its return for the first time since the pandemic hit.

The race being held on Columbus day, is expected to have around 20,000 competitors, according to the Boston Athletic Association.

That number is down compared to races before the pandemic.

Typically, the event has been known to draw 500,000 spectators.
