BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Police arrested a Tiverton man after he drove his car down the stairs at Boston’s City Hall and then fled the scene Friday night.

Shortly after, officers found the 26-year-old driver unconscious and suffering from numerous self-inflicted, non-life-threatening injuries.
Police also found a large, opened bottle of alcohol and a firearm in his car.
Hoetzel was arrested and transported to the local hospital for treatment where he remains at this time.
He is being charged with the following:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol
Hoetzel will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court once he is discharged from the hospital.
