Boston police officer shot in Dorchester

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A Boston police officer was shot Monday night in Dorchester.

Police said that officer was shot near Franklin Park, according to WCVB Boston.

Authorities said the suspect fired at officers responding to a domestic disturbance on Esmond Street around 9:30 p.m.

The officer was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment and is expected to live, officials said.

The investigation is still quite active at this time.
