Boston woman killed in shark attack at Bahamas resort

NEW PROVIDENCE ISLAND, BAHAMAS (WLNE) — A 44-year-old woman from Boston was killed in a shark attack while visiting the Bahamas.

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force a woman and a male relative were paddle boarding away from the shoreline by a resort in western New Providence when she was attacked around 11:15am.

A resort lifeguard responded to the attack bringing the woman and male relative to back to shore.

Police say CPR was performed on the woman but she had significant trauma to the right side of her body. She was examined on scene by emergency medical technicians, who concluded that she was deceased.

The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.
