Boy, girl hit by car while in marked crosswalk in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Attleboro police said two teens were hit by a car early Friday morning.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of County and Bushee streets.
Deputy Chief Timothy Cook, Jr. said the teens — a boy and a girl who are both 17 years old — were hit by a car while they were in a marked crosswalk, with a crossing guard present.
Both teens were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The deputy chief said the driver of the car, only identified as an 88-year-old man, failed to stop or yield for the crossing guard and pedestrians within the crosswalk.
He was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Police said the 88-year-old will be cited and charged “accordingly at the conclusion of the investigation.”
