Braga Bridge & New Bedford-Fairhaven Swing Bridge to undergo maintenance
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Both the Braga Bridge and the New Bedford-Fairhaven Swing Bridge are set to undergo maintenance from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Massachusetts Department of Transportation officials said crews will be conducting shoulder sweeping operations on the bridges from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The debris removal will take place along the curbs on Braga Bridge (I-195 eastbound and westbound), including along the on and off ramps, and along the right lane curbs on the New Bedford Fairhaven Swing Bridge (Route 6 eastbound and westbound).
The Braga Bridge operations should conclude by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, according to officials.
Authorities said traffic will be controlled by the use of a State Police controlled rolling roadblock, adding that appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
Officials noted that commuters should expect delays and use caution.
