Brain surgeon testifies on John O’Keefe’s head injuries in Karen Read retrial

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A brain surgeon was on the stand Wednesday to testify on John O’Keefe’s head injuries.

The witness shared his analysis of O’Keefe’s autopsy, and said the only way he could have gotten the injury on the back on his head was if he fell backwards and hit his head.

“The tearing of the skin in that fashion, you could look it up, would be just a classic blunt trauma injury,” Dr. Aizik Wolk said.

Read is accused of hitting O’Keefe with her car and leaving him to die in the snow in January of 2022.

Testimony was delayed Wednesday morning when Judge Cannone asked to speak with each of the jurors individually about an undisclosed “issue.”

Testimony will pick back up on May 27.
