UPDATED: Crews fight 2 alarm fire in Narragansett

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. – A large fire was reported Monday evening on Ocean Rd. in Narragansett. 

Fire crews from the Union District, Narragansett, and North Kingstown were dispatched to 252 Ocean Rd, a house owned by late PawSox owner Jim Skeffington, according to online tax assessor records.

The 2-alarm fire breaking out around 8:30 p.m. required crews to work quickly to prevent the wind from spreading the fire to other nearby homes.

Wind was considered to be a major issue.
