BREAKING: DCF investigating death of Fall River 5th grader

FALL RIVER, Mass. — The Department of Children and Families is investigating the death of a Fall River elementary student.

In a letter sent out by the superintendant, a fifth grader at Fonseca Elementary School passed away Thursday night.

The details of the student’s death have not been released.

DCF spokesperson Andrea Grossman said in a statement, “we have received a report and are investigating.”

Grief counselors are available at the school tonight and tomorrow morning.
