Pawtucket woman shot multiple times

Providence (WLNE)- A 54-year-old woman is in the hospital after being shot multiple times in Pawtucket Wednesday night, according to police.

The woman was shot in the chest on Baxter Street around 8:15 P.M.

A neighbor described hearing the gun shots.

“I heard three or four gunshots rapid fire,” said Alyssa Allen. “I kind of was hoping they were fireworks. But then I heard the sirens.”

The woman, who has not not been identified, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

Police have not released details on a motive or suspect.

“This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be released as it progresses.” said Detective Sergeant  Christopher LeForte.
