PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A man and a child were injured in a drive by shooting in Providence Tuesday night.

According to police, the man was shot at while in his car near the Chad Brown Complex around 5 p.m. Tuesday night.

A 5-year-old girl was also in the car and was cut by broken glass from the window.

A white car was seen taking off from the scene.

Neighbors tell ABC6 that they heard the shooting from inside his home.

“I was upstairs watching movies and all I heard were gunshots so i just ducked on the floor. Flew myself on the floor,” said Angel Vasquez.

A witness tells ABC6 she heard the shots while waiting for her son to come home from school.

She also says the same apartment was shot at about 2 weeks ago.

Residents say they do not feel safe in the area.

Back in October, a woman was shot through her apartment window at the same housing complex.
