BREAKING: 18-year-old dead after being shot on his birthday in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An 18-year-old is dead after being shot on his birthday on Rhodes Street in Providence on Sunday according to Providence Police.

Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said the man was shot in the body and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Perez added it appeared there was a gathering in the area and the man who died was a resident at the address.
