Thomas Quinn re-elected in race for Bristol County district attorney, McMahon responds

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Associated Press projects incumbent Thomas Quinn to be re-elected as Bristol County district attorney.

Quinn initially said Tuesday as an event in Westport that there is enough information to claim victory in the race.

With no Republican candidate in the race, Quinn is projected to be re-elected for the position, defeating Shannon McMahon.

“I’m here because of you,” Quinn thanked his supporters.

McMahon, 42, has criticized Quinn about police brutality and a lack of adaptability to the current times.

Quinn said his eight years have spoken for themselves, and that McMahon is unexperienced.

McMahon issued a response to the loss, saying, “Regardless of the outcome, we put Tom Quinn on notice that he can no longer skate by. We let him know that we are paying attention. And let him know that his best is just simply not good enough.”
