Bristol reenacts pivotal moments from Revolutionary War
BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — Reenactors in Bristol recreated two major events in the town as part of commemorations of the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War.
The Bristol Bombing in 1775 and Bristol Raids in 1778 both saw the British attack the town.
The bombing occurred because the townspeople refused to give supplies to the British Army, and the raids three years later saw the burning of 30 of the town’s buildings.
However, the patriots came out victorious in both skirmishes.
