Vehicle break-in, credit card fraud suspect arrested in West Bridgewater

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — The West Bridgewater Police Department said a Brockton man that had active warrants out of Stoughton was arrested for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.
32-year-old Elvis Andrade was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a burglarious instrument, receiving stolen property under $1,200, motor vehicle operator refusing to identify self, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, number plate violation to conceal identity, and refusing to identify self.
Andrade was arrested around 2 a.m. Sunday when an officer ran his license plate and it allegedly came back as stolen out of Stoughton on Dec. 2.
Police said they initiated a traffic stop and alleged that Andrade refused to identify himself.
During a search, police allegedly located a screwdriver and several items and paperwork in various people’s names, including passports, debit and credit cards, and IDs.
Stoughton Police had obtained an arrest warrant for Andrade on Dec. 24 following an investigation into multiple motor vehicle break-ins, car thefts, and credit card fraud.
He is expected in Brockton District Court on Dec. 30.
