Brockton man pleads guilty to illegally receiving firearm, drug possession and distribution
BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The United State’s Attorney’s Office said that a Brockton man plead to firearm, cocaine, fentanyl, and conspiracy offenses.
23-year-old Antonio Denziah Fernandes was charged with two counts of illegally receiving a firearm while under indictment, two counts of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, one count of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and cocaine, and one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.
The attorney’s office said that Fernandes was trafficking firearms and narcotics in the Brockton area beginning in at least late 2021, and in January 2022 received and sold a Glock Model 48, 9mm pistol for $1,700 while under indictment for trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl.
In addition, Fernandes distributed around 100 grams of fentanyl outside his residence around the same time.
Fernandes was arrested in the passenger seat of a car that he and a co-conspirator were using to distribute narcotics.
During a search of his person, the vehicle he was arrested in, and an abandoned vehicle Fernandes was using to store drugs in, police found 177.5 grams of fentanyl, 51.5 grams of cocaine, 18.2 grams of Percocet pills, eight grams of mushrooms, a loaded firearm, 27 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and drug packaging materials.
Fernandes is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 10.
