Brockton man sentenced for shooting teen girl in the face in January Easton incident
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A 19-year-old Brockton man has been sentenced after he was found to have shot a 16-year-old female in the face at an Easton apartment complex in January.
According to Easton Police Department Deputy Chief Philip Adams, Anthony Lopes pleaded guilty to five felony charges in Fall River Superior Court Friday:
- Armed robbery
- Assault and battery with a firearm
- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious bodily injury
- Possessing a firearm without a license
- Possessing a large-capacity firearm
Lopes will serve 2.5-3 years in state prison for the incident followed by two years of probation.
The incident occurred on January 14 when police responded to the Avalon Apartment Complex on Robert Drive.
The 16-year-old victim was found by police suffering from a gunshot wound to her face outside of of the complex.
Lopes was arrested January 27 and has been held without bail since then.
Two other suspects in the incident are facing accessory after the fact charges in connection to the incident.
Xavion Barnes, 19, and Antonio Fonseca, 19, both of Brockton, were identified as suspects in the case.
