Brockton murder suspect arrested trying to board flight out of country

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts State Police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced an arrest in a Brockton homicide investigation.
Brockton police and Massachusetts State Police troopers responded July 24 to reports of shots fired at 27 Vesey Street where they discovered a male gunshot victim outside of the address.
Romualdy Pierre-Charles, 22, of Brockton died from his injuries.
Marcus Miranda, 20, was named as suspect after an investigation on charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Troopers from the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Detective Unit arrested Miranda at Logan International Airport Monday at around 5 p.m. trying to board a flight to leave the country.
A murder charge was also filed against Govanni Carapinha, 23, who is in custody on separate, unrelated charges.
Miranda will be arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court and the investigation is ongoing.
