Brown University shooting person of interest described as man in 20s from Wisconsin

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — ABC News reports that the person of interest who was taken into custody in connection with the Brown University shooting on Dec. 13 is a man in his 20s from Wisconsin.

Sources said that police were told that they received a tip about a gun with a “distinctive characteristic” that was found during the search of the hotel room where the person of interest was taken into custody.

Authorities are still investigating if the person had any ties to the university.

The shooting resulted in two deaths and nine injuries.

Officials said that one of the victims had already been discharged from the hospital, but not all victim families have been notified due to travel issues.

The university had also cancelled all classes and exams and allowed students to leave campus.
