BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — Bridgewater State University announced a free tuition program for select in-state students.

This initiative, titled “the Bridgewater Commitment,” will cover free tuition and mandatory fees for in-state undergraduate students with an annual family income of $125,000 or less.

Additional costs such as on-campus housing and books are not included, but BSU said it will “consider students for additional resources to assist with offsetting the cost of attendance.”

The initiative will start in the 2025 fall semester.

To be eligible for the program, students must be a Massachusetts resident for at least two years and a full-time undergraduate student.

To apply for the initiative, students must complete the FASFA application.

According to BSU, the commitment covers tuition and fees to support middle- and low-income families in Massachusetts and help them “pursue the benefits of an excellent four-year degree.”
