Joseph Cianci, a former employee of ABC6 and the grandson of Buddy Cianci, has been charged with possession of a weapon; (not a firearm).

The charge stems from an investigation on the shooting that happened outside the Neutaconkanut Recreation Center on Plainfield street in Providence.

A source tells ABC6 that 18 year-old Cianci is a witness to the shooting, and a friend of the victim.

According to police, 18 year-old Joshua Conti of Bristol was shot multiple times outside the recreation center, just after 4:30 on Saturday.

Leuggini Irazzary is now wanted on charges of felony assault in connection to this shooting.

Conti was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.
