Building in North Attleborough catches fire

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Crews from across southeastern Massachusetts raced to a fire in North Attleborough early Friday.

The heavy fire happened on the back side of a vacant building on Robinson Drive around 1:30 a.m.

Officials said it was spotted by an ambulance coming back from Sturdy Memorial Hospital after an unrelated call. The early notice helped firefighters knock down the flames within an hour.

The fire began on the second floor. An ABC 6 News crew saw damage to the outside of the home, including the second floor windows.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
