Burglar steals safe with child’s ashes inside, Barrington police say

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Barrington Police Department announced Wednesday that it is searching for a stolen safe with the ashes of the victim’s deceased child inside.

Police said they responded to a report of breaking and entering at a home in the area of Nayatt Road Wednesday.

According to officials, a black safe containing several items, including the ashes of the family’s deceased child was stolen from the home.

Authorities say the suspect possibly fled the scene in a gray Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
