Burrillville Police arrest man after alleged violent domestic assault

PASCOAG, R.I. (WLNE) – Burrillville Police arrested a man Sunday night after he was allegedly involved in a violent domestic assault.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. Sunday, Burrillville Police were dispatched to a residence on Sayles Avenue in Pascoag after receiving reports of a violent domestic altercation.
At the scene, Police found a female victim that had been beaten and strangled. A male suspect wanted for the assault was no longer at the location when Police conducted a forced entry.
Shortly after, the male suspect, Stephen Morin, 35, was arrested without incident at a restaurant a half-mile away from the Sayles Avenue residence.
According to Police, Morin and the female victim were romantically involved. The victim had come to the Sayles Avenue residence to collect her belongings. Morin allegedly kept the victim at the residence for hours, preventing her
Morin is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Sixth District Court in Providence. He has been charged with domestic strangulation, domestic felony assault, violation of a no contact order, and domestic disorderly conduct.
The condition of the female victim is unknown at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
