Benny’s Stores are stocked with fertilizer and everything else one would need to get a lawn in shape. Customers still getting over that terrible winter.

“It was a very tough winter. Very tough. It didn’t give you any breaks,” Carlos Pereria said.

Pereria bought some lawn seed today though his yard is not quite ready for it.

“It’s like a pool. It looks like a pool. There is a lot of water. It’s pretty wet.

And local business say even though spring is late it will come and when it does they will be ready.

“I was ready for it two weeks ago maybe longer,” Benny’s owner Arnold Bromberg joked. “No we are prepared. We are ready. We know the season and the timing. So if it is off, it’s never off more than a couple of weeks because of the weather.

“It does put a damper on things but eventually you work a little harder and make up for it,” Steven Popovich, who owns Lincoln Gardens said. he is telling customers estimates for lawn care will have to wait until everything melts.

As for those pretty flowers.?

“The dandelions and everything else will be postponed when they start growing,” he said.
