Cable Car Cinema and Café will be closing

The Cable Car Cinema and Café is closing its doors.

The owner of the cinema made the announcement on their Facebook page.

The Rhode Island School of Design owns the South Main Street building and says Cable Car will not renew the lease.

The iconic movie theater will close on May 27.

The Cable Car Cinema has been in Providence for more than four decades.
