CENTRAL FALLS – Concern and fear for the worst are growing for a missing teen from Central Falls, who disappeared earlier this week.
Dozens gathered to show their support for the safe return of Charles Engley, 16, at a candlelight vigil at Central Falls High School Friday evening. Engley has been missing since early Tuesday morning.
“Come home please Charlie,” his mother Farha pleaded. “You know all of your family loves you.”
Farha is heartbroken and worried not just because her teenage son is gone, but also because he lives with depression and needs his medication, which he doesn’t have with him.
The community, including the mayor and chief of police, gathered together in prayer. “We treat everyone as a family member in the city and we want Charlie to come back,” said Mayor James Diossa.
Colonel James Mendonca had a message for Charlie. “I just want to let him know what he is not in any kind of trouble, which for some reason he seems to think he is,” he said. “We just want to reunite him back with his family.”
Mendonca said police are following leads but some tips are getting stale, so he is urging everyone to stay positive and keep their eyes peeled.
