Cape Cod officer arrested for child pornography charges

BREWSTER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Cape Cod police officer has been put on leave after being arrested for child pornography charges.
In a release, Brewster Police announced that The Massachusetts State Police, with the assistance of the Brewster Police, arrested Matthew Marshall, a police officer for the Town of Brewster.
Marshall was charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Dissemination of Child Pornography, Defacement of Real or Personal Property, Unlawful Communication of Record Information, and Photos Taken Outside of First Responder’s Official Duties.
According to the department, Marshall has been relieved of duty and is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, which will take place in parallel with the criminal investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police.
Marshall will be arraigned today Thursday, July 25th in Orleans District Court.
