Car dealerships digging out

PROVIDENCE – Digging out is a common practice for car dealerships around here in the winter, but the frigid temperatures mean that shoveling will have to be done in shifts.
At Donald’s Car Corner they say this is the worst winter they’ve seen in their 30 years in business.
“Lately it’s just every weekend. Every Monday and Tuesday we lose two days worth of sales and service just digging out, you know? And it’s costly,” said owner Kevin Defusco.
And at a time that sales are normally through the roof.
“This is income tax time, where we’re normally starting to get busy, so this is really a bad time for this to happen,” he said.
To add to the growing costs, Donald’s will soon need to pay for snow removal, since there’s no more space to put it all, and a snow bank has formed along the entire length of the building.
“We fill up the containers, they take it out, and it’s just an ongoing process. Salt, it’s very time consuming, very expensive. It’s a tough go of it,” he said.
And with more snow on the way these dealerships in our area say they hope they don’t have to go through this whole process again later on this week.
