Car strikes utility pole in Woonsocket: Parts of the area temporarily lose power

WOONSOCKET, R.I (WLNE) – Parts of Woonsocket Temporarily lose power after a car struck a utility pole early Sunday morning.
The Woonsocket Police Department said two people walked away without any injuries.
Police say the driver swerved the out of the way to avoids and animal when he crashed into the pole on Privilege Street around 2:45 a.m.
National Grid was called to the scene after power went out due to the crash.
Utility crews have since replaced the pole, and police say drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident.
