Car vs tractor trailer crash causes delays on Cape Cod’s Sagamore Bridge

BOURNE, Mass. (WLNE) – A crash on the eastbound side of the Sagamore Bridge in Bourne caused four mile delays on the Cape Cod Canal Wednesday.
State police say they responded to the crash scene involving a car and tractor trailer around 11:38 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the car was wedged beneath the tractor trailer. The car’s 86-year-old male driver from Quincy sustained minor injuries and was later transported to Beth-Israel Plymouth.
The 53-year-old tractor trailer driver from Taunton was not injured, according to police.
State police say the crash involved a Mercury Marquis and a Mack tractor-trailer owned by a Taunton landscaping company.
As the cars were towed away from the scene, all traffic was shifted to the bridge’s westbound lanes, according to a spokeswoman for MassDOT.
