Care New England says their system is back online following cyber attack

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – A spokeswoman for Care New England confirmed to ABC6 that their computer systems are “back to normal” following a cyber attack.
By back to normal that means its website, email, and internal computer systems are back, according to spokeswoman Raina Smith.
Women & Infants Hospital, Butler Hospital, and Kent Hospital are all owned by Care New England.
On June 16 Care New England confirmed that it was having IT problems, and later on June 19 it officially acknowledged that it was due to a cyber attack.
Smith could not explain much about the cyber attack other than what she said on June 19 claiming that there was no reason to believe that any patient information had been compromised.
Care New England did confirm to ABC6 on June 19 that their payroll system had been impacted by the cyber attack.
This meant employees last week got paid the same that they did the prior week regardless of whether or not they worked less or more.
