Case back in court for DUI, manslaughter suspect in fatal February bridge crash

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The case of a suspect accused of driving drunk and killing a 28-year-old man in a crash will be back in Fall River Superior Court.
Last month, 62-year-old Robert Campbell was arraigned on manslaughter and OUI charges in connection to the February 20 car crash.
According to Massachusetts State Police, that night, Campbell left the Bitter End bar in Fairhaven, and drove over the New-Bedford Fairhaven Bridge.
That’s where, prosecutors say, Campbell drove across the double yellow lines and hit a car head-on, killing driver Mason Evich.
Police say Campbell’s blood alcohol concentration was more than double the legal limit.
Today’s hearing is a pre-trial conference.
