CCRI’s Providence campus cleared after bomb threat

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Community College of Rhode Island’s Providence campus evacuated after a bomb threat Thursday.
“We are evacuating the Liston campus due to a public safety threat,” read an alert sent out to students and staff.
Amy Kempe, a spokesperson for the college, said they were notified at about 10:30 a.m. of a threat called into Providence police.
That threat was found not credible, but the college evacuated for safety measures, according to Kempe.
The campus reopen just before 11:30 a.m.
