CDC study shows ‘substantially lower risk’ for children who received 2024 COVID vaccine
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A new report is saying that children who received 2024’s COVID-19 vaccine had a “substantially lower risk” of adverse effects from the virus.
The CDC report says that children with the vaccine are less likely to need emergency room or urgent care visits related to COVID.
Nearly 100,000 cases from August of 2024 to September of 2025 were studied for the report.
The vaccine was shown to be 76 percent effective for healthy children ages nine months to four-years-old.
It was shown to be 57 percent effective for children ages five to 17.
